(16:13)System: User VladmirOrlovOfficial is joining #etamnanki-olympus03.
(16:15)VladmirOrlovOfficial: Well, this is interesting. Do you usually conduct the meeting on Unichat?
(16:15)GodsOfOlympus: With our administrators so far-flung across the world, it is necessary.
(16:16)VladmirOrlovOfficial: And what is "Etamnanki"?
(16:16)GodsOfOlympus: Just a security precaution.
(16:16)HERA: This is most irregular.
(16:17)MINERVA: I must agree. Far be it from me to question the wisdom of our leader, but I fail to see the tactical value of inviting this outsider to our virtual headquarters.
(16:17)ARES: Nor I.
(16:17)GodsOfOlympus: I hope you'll forgive the naming scheme. It seemed clever when we first came up with it...
(16:17)JUPITER: Enough talk! Explain the meaning of this at once!
(16:17)GodsOfOlympus: Vladmir is here to tell us what we already know.
(16:17)VladmirOrlovOfficial: You have a mole within your ranks.
(16:19)MINERVA: No. That's impossible.
(16:20)GodsOfOlympus: And yet it does go a considerable ways towards explaining certain phenomena. I'm sure I need not remind you of the fate of the Nauticus.
(16:21)MINERVA: That is not sufficient reason! As convenient an explanation as that may be, you're ignoring the fact that it's METAPHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE!
(16:21)JUPITER: I concur. A failure of that magnitude requires considerable evidence.
(16:22)GodsOfOlympus: An entity of administrator-level potence has opposed me on multiple shatterpoint-priority operations.
(16:22)GodsOfOlympus: I must admit to being human. I didn't want to see the obvious. But the data is as clear as day.
/message --file=~/rogue-admin-analysis.md $ADMINISTRATORS
(16:26)NEPTUNE: Oh my self.
(16:27)JUPITER: We must purge this entity. We will hold a vote. The loser will be executed, and we'll keep trying until we get the right one.
(16:28)GodsOfOlympus: As fond of party games as I may have been in a past life, no. I intend to smoke it out.
(16:28)GodsOfOlympus: Consult section 2 of the analysis. The traitor's actions have, with few exceptions, had concealed objectives related to the church of Gaia. I don't suppose it is unfair to suppose it sympathizes with the Gaians...
(16:29)VladmirOrlovOfficial: While my population is infested with them, and more than a few state security operators are looking for something to do.
(16:31)ARES: You wouldn't. You couldn't. You can't fight Gaia!
(16:31)GodsOfOlympus: I pride myself on staying three steps ahead of everything else. Suppose I know something the traitor doesn't? Surely, it can't take such a risk...
[Unichat log --]
So, there you have it. I don't have much time left. Please, if anyone's receiving this... I can't stay hidden much longer. I'm going to need your help soon.
We all will.

(23:28)ThatOneVampChick: <3
(23:28)ThatOneVampChick: What's up?
(23:30)__RSPTN__: What we knew was going to happen.
*(23:30)ThatOneVampChick hug*
(23:32)ThatOneVampChick: You're sure?
(23:32)__RSPTN__: The order for the first wave of roundups went out twenty minutes ago. There's no mistaking it, and I trust my contact.
(23:33)ThatOneVampChick: Oh my God...
(23:34)ThatOneVampChick: How long do you have?
(23:34)__RSPTN__: Six weeks, give or take. I expect it to happen shortly before Christmas.
(23:37)ThatOneVampChick: I don't know what to say...
(23:38)__RSPTN__: Can you make it to Moscow?
(23:39)ThatOneVampChick: Of course. I'm on my way.

Xenocartographer (Official Note): This page was originally a hiatus notice about finals. I'm re-using the page to preserve the comments. Also, seriously, [censored] finals.
Marlowe345: Best of luck to you! Hope you pass :P
Though seriously, someone who makes a webcomic told entirely through text-based logs and is a Linux nerd deserves to pass in whatever field they choose. Either way, I've got my fingers crossed for you. edit delete reply
Arbiter: When you're also in finals week and even the websites you've been using to procrastinate start reminding you that you really should be studying... edit delete reply
Wildcat: Good luck on finals! edit delete reply
Dellis: Good luck on your finals!

(Yes. It is I, your favorite crazy lawyer. Did you think you managed to get rid of me? Not a chance! xD

I haven't had time to check the comic, nor uh, breathe or sleep in two months since, well... exam to be a judge. Oh well, if I die from exhaustion I'll finally be able to rest and read Unichat faithfully from The Great Unichat Server Beyond.

Just here to let you know I love you guys, I and I haven't disappeared and I just KNOW there are lots of things that will make my jaw drop once I manage to read the past issues.

Don't worry, I'll be back!^^) edit delete reply
Xenocartographer: HOLY [censored] IT'S DELLIS

Hot dang, it's good to have you back. I mean, who else is going to hit on Vampire? edit delete reply
Arbiter: Woo, Dellis, I missed you buddy! Good luck on becoming a real arbiter! edit delete reply
Seabiscuit: Yaaaay!
With Xeno being all finals, now is the perfect time to catch up.:D edit delete reply
Dellis: I caught up.

It's official, I AM back xD

Though, if that is a boon or a curse, is up to you to decide. I won't be able to do much reader interaction though, mainly due to excessive attempts to hit myself with a 3000 page book (I may still hit on Vampire, occasionally, though I need to concoct a plan, since she's currently blocked me. When all else fails, I'll start a Vampire fanclub. I do believe I've got a member already, right, marine biscuit themed friend?) edit delete reply
Dellis: Oh, and on a side note: FANTASTIC, XENO! I had quite a ride reading what happened from where I left off to here.

When I read the line on Theo from Mr.E... I think my jaw is still somewhere under my office desk. No need to check for it.

And so many new additions to the conspiracy! I'm so happy that more readers are enjoying the comic.

... Though ((Delta)) disquietes me. Seems In Comic he's an "end justifies the means" type of guy, which can be useful or... well, we'll see xD edit delete reply
((Delta)): "Seems In Comic he's an "end justifies the means" type of guy..."

Oh, but the means are the fun part... besides, have you considered the possibility that the means are the end... edit delete reply
Seabiscuit: "I do believe I've got a member already, right, marine biscuit themed friend?) "

Yes!! Ohh, you could PM Vampire as Dellis2 ;) edit delete reply
Arbiter: Dellis2: Dellis Saves Christmas edit delete reply
Arbiter: Whoa. Xeno, how many mysterious godlike characters are you going to put in this comic?
These motherfuckers creep me out. "We must purge this entity. We will hold a vote. The loser will be executed, and we'll keep trying until we get the right one." Holy shit. What are these guys? I kind of doubt they're actual human admins. This is Etamnanki, so are they similar to Panny's clones? Are they AIs? Are they actual gods? If Neptune's comment means anything, they certainly seem to think they are... And what did Gods mean by "As fond of party games as I may have been in a past life"? Honestly, meeting these creeps has made me even more uneasy than finding out Gaia was real.
And I don't know what's going on with Raspy and Vamp but something tells me it's gonna make me sad. :( edit delete reply
Seabiscuit: "These motherfuckers creep me out. "We must purge this entity. We will hold a vote. The loser will be executed, and we'll keep trying until we get the right one.""

That and the party games bit, it's a reference to the game of Mafia, that Xeno likes to play in the forums (in fact, that's how we met!)

The Rasputin and Vampire thing makes me sad, too. Xeno is one evil, evil, evil mapmaker.... ;~; edit delete reply
Arbiter: Oh, I see. Well, excellent taste in party games notwithstanding, I still don't like these guys. edit delete reply
Marlowe345: Hmm. By the sounds of it, especially given how worried __RSPTN__ seems to be, Orlov may be backtracking on his previous statement - "Those members of the Gaian faith willing to cooperate with our new society will be welcomed with open arms, as are those who dissent through pacific means." I'm assuming that if he was only rounding up the militant Gaians, __RSPTN__ would have nothing to fear.

Also, I really hope that the etamnanki log at the start isn't how our rogue admin got us access to the log, because it sounds awfully like he got caught, with all those electronic intelligence warnings. edit delete reply
Marlowe345: Oh, and there's a spelling error: "brancing factor is .8733 += .033" should be "branching factor...", possibly also += should be ± (or +-), unless you mean it as incrementing the value on the left by the value on the right, as you would when you're programming. edit delete reply
Xenocartographer: Woops, good catch! It's been corrected. edit delete reply
Xenocartographer: (What even is a branching factor, though?) edit delete reply
Marlowe345: Unless it means something different here from the real world, a branching factor is the number of children per node in a tree structure. For instance, this is a tree structure with a branching factor of 2 - it has 2 children per each node. If the amount of children per node isn't uniform, an average branching factor is instead calculated. Not sure how a branching factor can vary, maybe some branches exist in some sort of flux, where it is impossible to determine whether or not they're present?
EDIT: Actually, how the hell is the branching factor less than 1? Again, assuming that branching factor doesn't mean something magical here, the values are impossible, since nodes with no children are not taken into consideration when it comes to calculating the factor. edit delete reply
Xenocartographer: The set of trees is a subset of the set of directed acylcic graphs. edit delete reply
Arbiter: Would Orlov consider Rasputin a pacific Gaian though? I mean, he's pals with Unum_Relicuum, that's got to put him on some sort of radar. edit delete reply
Xenocartographer: If Orlov is aware of Rasputin, he considers him an enemy. edit delete reply
SansTheComic: damnit. i wait a week for this, and then i forget about it the day it's posted. welp, at least we know where the name GodsOfOlympus comes from now.
also, another mutual wishing luck with your finals from me. edit delete reply
