Fixed issue #102577: "Redundant entries in blocklist containing only partially Latin usernames"
While our efforts to standardize our internationalization code have generally paid off marvelously, there have been occasional issues with old corner-case workarounds not being removed. This issue was one of them.
We expect an official patch to the i18n++ plugin, which no longer needs to include functionality to hide this bug, shortly.
Exposed blocklist to approved third-party applications on an opt-in basis
More blocklist changes. We are aware that this has been a matter of some controversy, since blocklists are regarded as private information. Unfortunately, as users of applications such as Hades' Realm and UniDate have made us aware, this leads to awkward situations where the application attempts to pair up people who can't actually communicate. As such, as an experimental first step, certain well-known applications are being given access to users' blocklists on an opt-in basis. This is an experiment, so to begin with, we're limiting it to just the two listed.
Implemented feature request #89451: "Optionalize argument name to /beep"
For historical reasons, the syntax for /beep has long required an explicit "--at_user" parameter. Frankly, it's silly that it lasted this long. You can now, for example, /beep GodsOfOlympus (please don't actually do this).
